19 Dec Christingle Service
This morning, we gathered in our Christingle Service for our final act of collective worship this term.
Y6 all made a Christingle for themselves and their YR buddies, with thanks to Tony’s Continental in East Finchley who kindly donated the oranges to us.
Here are some of the prayers that we shared in the service:
Jesus, whose mother was Mary:
We pray for our homes and families. Thank you for all those who love us and care for us day by day. Help us in turn to love and care for all those around us.Jesus, cradled in a manger:
We pray for those who are homeless, and those who have lost their homes through war and conflict.Jesus, sharing the stable with the animals:
We pray for your creation. Thank you for the world you have made. Help us to be good stewards and care for our beautiful world.Jesus, worshipped by shepherds and kings:
We pray for people around the world, and those away from their loved ones at this Christmas time. We pray for members of the armed forces, and for those serving you in distant lands. Be near to them and help them to remember your birthday, which reminds us that your birth brings love, joy, hope and peace.Jesus, our Emmanuel:
We pray for all those who are sad, or ill or in trouble. Bring to them your comfort and your hope.Thank you that you are ‘God with us’. Bless all those who are suffering and help them to know that you are Emmanuel, God with us’.
Lord Jesus, light of the world, hear our prayers.
