30 Mar Year 4 Trip to The Barnet Environmental Centre
On Tuesday 7th March, Year 4 had a brilliant time visiting the Barnet Environmental Centre. The day linked perfectly to their Science unit about classification and food chains. They had the opportunity to do pond dipping, where they collected specimens and identified them using classification keys. They thought about the feeding relationships between producers, predators and prey and then made a pond food chain. In the afternoon, they investigated invertebrates found in the meadow and explored how certain characteristics of animals relate to their habitat. They travelled there and back on the bus, which they enjoyed! A great time was had by all 🙂
