25 Oct Y6 Trip to Lincolnsfields – WWII Evacuee Experience
On 11th October, Year 6 visited Lincolnsfields to have a WWII Evacuee Experience. It linked really well to their History topic on “Britain Since 1930”.
As you can see from the photos, the children were immersed in a wide range of war-time experiences, including discussing the realities of rationing; dressing up; playing with 1940s games; re-enactments and role play; visiting a “Blitz” exhibition on-site; exploring a 1940s house; having a school classroom experience; an air raid experience and more! It was interactive, making it a memorable way to learn and begin to understand this turbulent period of history.
The children asked lots of interesting questions and were totally engaged – they really enjoyed their day!
