There is excellent provision in school for singing and all children are able to participate. From years 3-6 children are invited to join the inclusive choir which meets weekly at lunch time. Expert vocal training means that children learn to sing together and perform to a high standard. As with orchestra, songs range from classical, to musicals, jazz and popular music and rap. Children sing solos, small ensembles, and often sing in 2 or 3-part harmony. Performance opportunities include termly school concerts for the school and choir members’ families, joining with other schools to sing at the Arts Depot in the Barnet schools music festival, St Alban’s Abbey diocesan harvest festival. Other recent performances have included carol singing in East Barnet village and local care home along with joining a 200 strong pupil choir at the Royal Albert Hall, and singing with other London schools for charity at the O2 Arena.
