Have you ever thought about what happens when Mr Waller sprinkles sand and salt onto our icy playground when it is already icy and what would happen if he salted the playground before the icy night? This is the question that Y4 have been thinking about this week in Science.

The children also experimented with adding food colouring to ice and noticing how and why the food colouring seeps into the ice where the salt has melted it.

Year 4 even made ice cream using what they learned about ice formation!
