11 Jun Litter picking
Last week, Y4 performed an investigation as part of their Science learning. They were reflecting on some of the positive and negative ways that humans change the environment locally and globally, with a particular focus on how this affects other living things. They began their unit by looking at the school grounds and discovered, much to their horror, that there was a lot of litter – over 40 small pieces of paper in fact!
Y4 fed back to the whole school on Monday in collective worship to share this discovery. Since then, groups of pupils have been on litter patrol and picking duty.
We continue to be inspired by Genesis 1:26 that reminds us of our collective responsibility to care for God’s creation.
“Let us make human beings in our image, make them reflecting our nature so they can be responsible for the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the cattle, and, yes, Earth itself, and every animal that moves on the face of Earth.”
