03 Feb Hopeanuary 2025
Once again, we have been thinking about ways in which we can spread hope to others around us during the month of January. The Mustard Seeds, our pupil worship leaders, have refined last year’s list and updated it for 2025.
We are overjoyed to read about the wonderful hopeful acts across the school. Here are just a few to share:
Children across the school are most proud of these things:
- Helping to do jobs at home that help out the adults e.g. tidying away toys, dishes after dinner
- Cheering up friends when they are sad
- Sharing and singing songs with to make others smile
- Paying compliments e.g. ‘you look good today!’ or ‘good save!’
- Putting rubbish in the bin and litter picking
- Turning off the tap when brushing our teeth
- Writing our names
- Making new friends
- Saying thank you to God for EVERYTHING!
- Growing and watering plants at home
- Making bird feeders out of recycled objects
- Scoring goals!
- Reading books to younger brothers and sisters
- Putting food out to attract new birds to our gardens
- Helping others because it’s kind
- Making a gratitude jay and filling it with things we are grateful for e.g. trees that give us oxygen, family that loves us
- Making lunch for ourselves at the weekend – homemade pizza!
- Learning about rare animals like the vaquita porpoise and the northern white rhino
- Helping staff with jobs
- Learning how to say hello in LOTS of different languages
- Finding out about art from another culture
- Taking friends to the medical room if they are hurt
- Learning to play new instruments and performing in front of an audience
- Listening to a friend and giving advice – never letting them down
- Being happy with who we are and how far we’ve come!
