23 Jun Celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee
This week, in collective worship, we have been learning about the Queen’s service over 70 years of her reign as our monarch. Yesterday, we had a glorious afternoon of celebration to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee. Each class had an allocated decade and we celebrated the major historical, scientific and cultural events all against the back drop of British music from the last 70 years which featured The Beatles, Lulu, Take That, Queen, Bananarama, Dusty Springfield, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa and many more!
The children paraded in their classes, ate sandwiches that they’d made earlier in the day and waved their home made flags whilst wearing their decade themed crowns. Our afternoon ended with the National Anthem to give thanks for Queen Elizabeth.
It was certainly a day to remember!
