Upcoming Events
We have organised to have a duckling hatching kit in school from Monday 12th March until Friday 22nd March. This will be an exciting opportunity for the children throughout the school. They will be able to observe as the ducklings hatch from their eggs and will discover how they change in the first few days of life. The children will also have the opportunity to hold the ducklings and watch them move around in a small area (this will be fully risk assessed).
This experience will support learning in many curriculum areas including Science and Understanding of the World. We have sourced the duckling hatching kit from ‘Incredible eggs’ and we chose this company because of their responsible and ethical approach. You can find out more about Incredible Eggs on their website https://www.incredibleeggs.co.uk/.
In order for us to be able to provide the children with this exciting experience, we are asking for parents to make a voluntary contribution of £1.80, this can be paid through Edu Spot. This covers the cost of the hatching kit which includes eggs, incubator, brooding cage and feed. It also includes school support and guidance from ‘Incredible Eggs’ throughout the 12 day period and access to their online resources for schools.
If you have any questions about the ducklings, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office email address.
