Reception Literacy Overview
One of the most popular activities in the Reception Classroom is to use the construction equipment to make imaginative and thoughtful models. We thought it would be lovely to share some of their wonderful creations.
The children in Reception have produced some wonderful work during our ‘Creativity’ week. In response to picture books, they have created imaginative aliens; designed unusual underpants; constructed innovative traps and made worry monsters to help them when they have something on their mind.
The children have continued to work hard whilst they are learning from home. Their work has included learning about St George’s Day; designing super bears; creating Lego models and growing plants. We continue to enjoy looking at all the wonderful photographs that are sent into us.
Easter Break Activities
We have enjoyed seeing the exciting activities that the children in Reception have carried out over the Easter break. These activities include imaginative models; colourful Easter egg designs and hand shaped palm leaves.
The focus of Reception’s learning has been the wonderful text ‘Handa’s Surprise’. As part of their learning Mrs Lawrence asked the children to create their own fruit baskets. We have been very impressed with the colourful baskets that have been sent to us.
As part of our focus week on caring for God’s creation, Reception have been learning about Recycling and Composting and have written a letter to their families to plead for help with this important cause.
